Attachment III - Technical Information

AFFECTED VEHICLES:
CERTAIN 2000 MODEL YEAR LINCOLN LS VEHICLES

NOTE:
SOME VEHICLES MAY HAD THE PCM REPROGRAMMED PREVIOUSLY. ON THESE VEHICLES, VERIFY CALIBRATION USING APPROPRIATE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL.

SERVICE PROCEDURE





1. Reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to the latest calibration listed in the table shown (only one of these calibrations will be selectable for each vehicle), using one of the following two (2) methods:

^ Worldwide Diagnostic system (WDS). Use B6 CD-ROM dated February, 2000 or later.

NOTE:
If your WDS is connected to FordStar, your WDS already contains the latest calibrations. If your WDS is not currently connected to FordStar and the B6 CD-ROM has not arrived at your dealership, call 1-800-207-2444 to obtain an advanced copy of these calibrations on CD-ROM.

^ Service Bay Technical System (SBTS) and the New Generation STAR (NGS) Tester with Rotunda flash cable (007-00531) and Rotunda flash card (007-00532). Use R00 Calibration CD-ROM dated March, 2000 or later.

NOTE:
If your SBTS is connected to FordStar, your SBTS already contains the latest calibrations. If your SBTS is not currently connected to FordStar and the R00 CD-ROM has not arrived at your dealership, call 1-800-207-2444 to obtain an advanced copy of these calibrations on CD-ROM.





2. Obtain and prepare the Authorized Modifications Label. Write the modification completed, your P & A Code, date of repair and the program type and program number as shown.

3. Apply label to clear area of the upper radiator support.
