ISSUE
The front power windows may exhibit a "squeaking" or "creaking" noise when the window is operated on some vehicles. The noise typically occurs when the window glass is at the end of full travel. This may be due to contamination in the lubricant on the window regulator guides.
ACTION
Replace the front power window regulator(s) with a revised design regulator. The revised design has a powder-coated surface on the guides that will reduce the possibility of the noise concern. Refer to the following Service Procedure for regulator replacement instructions.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Door Trim Panel Removal
1. Raise window to full UP position.
2. Lift the screw cover inside the door pull cup by gently inserting a small blade screwdriver in the screw cover and prying the cover open (Figure 1).
3. Remove the two (2) screws from the pull cup.
4. Remove the interior door handle trim panel by pulling outward on the panel (Figure 2).
5. Remove the five (5) screws that secure the door trim panel to the door. Refer to Figure 3 for screw locations.
NOTE
THE DOOR TRIM PANELS ARE SECURED WITH NINE (9) PUSH PINS (FOUR (4) ACROSS THE TOP OF THE PANEL, THREE (3) DOWN THE FRONT EDGE OF THE PANEL AND TWO (2) DOWN THE REAR EDGE OF THE PANEL).
6. Carefully pull the door trim panel from the door.
7. Disconnect the electrical connections from the wire harness on the door trim panel and remove the door trim panel.

2. Remove the inner watershield from the door.
3. Remove the interior weatherstrip (Figure 5).
4. Loosen, DO NOT REMOVE the two (2) window regulator-to-glass clamp bolts (Figure 6).
5. Hold the window glass in place using duct tape (or similar) to secure glass to window frame.
6. Carefully reconnect the wiring harness from the door trim panel to the door wiring harness and lower the window regulator several millimeters/inches.
7. Disconnect the wiring harness and set door panel aside.
8. Remove the tape securing the glass to the window frame and remove the glass.
Window Regulator Removal
1. Disconnect the door latch electrical connector (Figure 7).
2. Remove the anti-theft shield screw and nut. Position the anti-theft shield aside (Figures 8 and 9).

6. Remove the two (2) nuts, the bolt and the inner front door support bracket (Figure 13).
7. Remove the bolts and the front door inner support and remove the regulator assembly (Figures 14 and 15).
