Sunroof / Moonroof: Description and Operation

Sliding Roof Panel
The electric sliding roof panel is available as an option.
The system operates in the following manner:
- When the roof sliding panel switch is rocked rearward, the roof opening glass slides into the storage space between the roof trim panel and the roof panel exposing an opening over the front seats.
- Momentarily pressing then releasing the roof sliding panel switch will activate the one-touch opening feature. The roof panel will slide fully rearward automatically. Pressing the roof sliding panel switch with the sliding roof panel moving will cancel the one-touch operation.
- When the roof sliding panel switch is rocked forward with the roof opening glass fully back in the storage space, the roof opening glass moves forward from the storage position.

Near the end of the forward travel, the rear portion of the roof opening glass moves upward on two lifter arms. This allows a weather-tight seal when the roof opening glass is closed.

- When the roof sliding panel switch is rocked forward with the roof opening glass fully forward, the rear of the roof opening glass pops up to the VENT position.
- With the roof opening glass in the VENT position, rocking the roof sliding panel switch rearward closes the roof opening glass.
- The roof sliding panel opening shield is manually slid forward and backward to cover the opening when the roof opening glass is in the flush position. If the roof opening glass is in the forward position when the roof sliding panel switch is rocked rearward the roof sliding panel opening shield will be dragged rearward by the roof opening glass.
- The control module provides the logic for the roof panel operation.
