Steering Column Shaft

Removal

1. CAUTION: The steering column must be in the locked position, or the lower end of the steering column is to be secured or wired in such a way as to prevent the steering column from rotating, resulting in damage to the air bag sliding contact.





Remove and discard the pinch bolt. Disconnect the lower steering column shaft from the steering column lower yoke.





2. Remove and discard the pinch bolt. Disconnect the lower steering column shafts from each other.





3. Remove the lower steering column shaft.

Installation








1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
- Install new pinch bolts.
