Removal and Installation

CAUTION: Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they affect the performance of vital components and systems and their failure can result in major repair expense. A pew part with the same part number must be installed if installation is necessary. Do not use a new part of lesser quality or substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified during reassembly to make sure of correct retention of these parts.

NOTE: New cam bolts and lock nuts must be installed whenever they are removed from the lower control arm.

1. If removing the engine support crossmember, use the special tool to support the engine.
2. Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies.
3. Remove the front valance panels.
4. Remove the radiator sight shield.
5. If removing the radiator support crossmember, support the radiator.







6. To remove individual components, only carry out the listed steps.

7. Remove the components in the order indicated in the given illustration and table.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 20: Radiator Crossmember Removal Note
1. On vehicles with V8 engines disconnect the block heater cable from the crossmember.

Item 3: I-brace Installation Note
1. Loosely install the front bolts and then the rear bolts. Then tighten them to specifications.
2. Make sure that all 4 insulators are correctly installed.

Item 8, 9, 12, 13: Lower Control Arm Nuts and Bolts Installation Note
1. A front end Wheel alignment is required when these bolts are removed.
