Pinpoint Test G: DTC C1277/C1278- Steering Wheel Angle 1 and 2 Circuit Failure/Faulted

CAUTION: Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.

Normal Operation
The steering wheel rotation sensor monitors the steering wheel position when the toothed-wheel on the steering shaft passes through its magnetic field.
Steering wheel rotation (in degrees) is sent to the ABS module through circuit 8-CC18 (WH/RD) and circuit 10-CC17 (GY). Voltage is supplied by the ABS module through circuit 7-CC1 (YE/RD). Ground is provided by the ABS module through circuit 9-CC1 (BN/RD).

Possible Causes
^ Sensor signal circuit 8-CC18 (WH/RD).
^ Sensor signal circuit 10-CC17 (GY).
^ Sensor power circuit 7-CC1 (YE/RD).
^ Sensor ground circuit 9-CC1 (BN/RD).
^ Steering wheel rotation sensor.
