Upper Intake Manifold

Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Drain the engine cooling system.
4. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
5. Remove the cowl vent screen.

Item 7: Vacuum Hose Removal Note





1. Remove the vacuum hoses from the mounting bracket.

Item 11: PCV Tube Removal Note
1. Position the PCV tube and coolant hose aside.

Item 29: EGR Valve System Module Gasket Removal Note

1. CAUTION: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs, or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths. Use a plastic scraping tool to remove all traces of gasket material.

Clean the EGR valve system module gasket mating surfaces. Install a new gasket.

Items 30 and 31: Upper Intake Manifold and Mounting Bolts Installation Note





1. Position the upper intake manifold and install the bolts hand-tight.

Item 21: Fuel Pressure Sensor Shield Mounting Bolts Installation Note





1. Install the fuel pressure sensor shield mounting bolts hand-tight.
- Tighten the upper intake manifold bolts in the sequence shown.

Item 11: PCV Tube Installation Note
1. Position the PCV tube and coolant hose to the intake manifold

Item 7: Vacuum Hose Installation Note





1. Clip the vacuum hoses into the mounting bracket.
