Normal Operation
The instrument cluster monitors the headlamp switch position by sending out voltage reference signals to the headlamp switch. If a problem is detected with the circuits to the headlamp switch, the instrument cluster will default the headlamps and parking lamps on. When the headlamp switch is in the parking lamps ON position, the instrument cluster sends a signal to the front electronic module (FEM) and the rear electronic module (REM) to illuminate the parking lamps. Power is supplied to the LH front side marker and parking lamp through circuits 29S-LF3 (OG/YE), 29S-LF7 (OG/BU), 29S-LF8 (OG) and 29S-LF16 (OG/GN). Ground for the LH front side marker flows through circuit 31S-LF8 (BK/OG) to the FEM. Ground for the LH front parking lamp flows through circuit 31S-LF16 (BK/RD) and then through circuit 31S-LF7 (BK/BU) to the FEM. Power is supplied to the RH front side marker and parking lamp through circuits 29S-LF4 (OG/BU), 29S-LF17 (OG/WH) and 29S-LF16 (OG/GN). Ground for the RH front side marker flows through circuit 31S-LF17 (BK/WH) to the FEM. Ground for the RH front parking lamp flows through circuit 31S-LF16 (BK/RD) to the FEM. Power is supplied to the LH rear parking lamp through circuit 29S-LF23 (OG). Ground for the LH rear parking lamp flows through circuit 31S-LF11 (BK/WH) to the rear electronic module (REM). Power is supplied to the RH rear parking lamp through circuits 29S-LF24 (OG/BK), and 29S-LF23 (OG). Ground for the RH rear parking lamp flows through circuit 31S-LF11 (BK/WH) and then circuit 31S-LF20 (BK/OG) to the REM. Power is supplied to the license lamps through circuits 29S-LG2 (OG/BU), 29S-LF12 (OG/BK), 29S-LF21 (OG/BK) and 29S-LF22 (OG/BK). Ground for the license lamps flows through circuits 31S-LF21 (BK/GN) and 31S-LF22 (BK/GN) and then through circuit 31S-LF12 (BK/GN) to the REM. The FEM and REM control the ground circuits individually for the lamps (the license lamps share a common ground controlled circuit at the REM).
