Test B

PINPOINT TEST B: THE HIGH BEAMS ARE INOPERATIVE

Test B1-B3:

Test B4-B5:

Test B6-B8:

Normal Operation
The instrument cluster monitors the multifunction switch positions. The instrument cluster sends out a voltage reference signal to the multifunction switch through circuit 8-LE14 (WH/BU). The return signal is sent through circuit 9-LG43 (BN/WH). When the multifunction switch is in the high beam position, the instrument cluster sends a signal to the front electronic module (FEM) to illuminate the high beams. If a problem is detected with the circuits to the multifunction switch, the instrument cluster will not send a signal to the FEM to illuminate the high beams.

Possible Causes
- circuit 8-LE14 (WH/BU) open, shorted to ground or shorted to power
- circuit 9-LG43 (BN/WH) open, shorted to ground or shorted to power
- multifunction switch
- FEM
- instrument cluster
