Normal Operation - Standard Headlamps
The LH low beam receives power through circuit 29S-LE16 (OG/GN). Ground for the LH low beam is provided through circuit 31S-LE16 (BK/RD). The RH low beam receives power through circuit 29S-LE23 (OG/WH). Ground for the RH low beam is provided through circuit 31S-LE23 (BK/WH). The front electronic module (FEM) controls the ground for both low beam headlamps.

Normal Operation - High Intensity Discharge (HID) Headlamps
The LH HID relay coil receives power through circuit 29S-LE16 (OG/GN). Ground for the LH HID relay coil is provided through circuit 91S-LE16 (BN/YE) and is controlled by the FEM. Battery voltage is supplied to the LH HID relay through circuit 30-LE31 (RD/YE). When the relay is energized, voltage is switched to the LH ballast through circuit 30S-LE16 (OG/GN). Circuit 31-LE16 (BK/RD) supplies ground to the LH ballast. The RH HID relay coil receives power through circuit 29S-LE23 (OG/WH). Ground for the RH HID relay coil is provided through circuit 91S-LE23 (BN/WH) and is controlled by the FEM. Battery voltage is supplied to the RH HID relay through circuit 30-LE30 (RD/BU). When the relay is energized, voltage is switched to the RH ballast through circuit 30S-LE23 (OG/WH). Circuit 31-LE23 (BK/WH) supplies ground to the RH ballast. The FEM controls the ground for both HID relay coils. The ballasts provide the necessary voltage to power the HID bulbs. The ballast and HID bulb are replaced as an assembly.

- circuit 30-LE31 (RD/YE) (LH HID relay) open
- circuit 30-LE30 (RD/BU) (RH HID relay) open
- circuit 30S-LE16 (OG/GN) (LH HID headlamp) open
