Alternator: Service and Repair

GENERATOR

CAUTION:
- The generator must be supported by hand after removing the bolts prior to disconnecting the electrical connector or damage to the harness may result.
- Care must be taken when removing the generator to prevent damage to the air conditioning and cooling lines.

NOTE: The A/C suction line may need to be positioned rearward to ease removal of the generator.

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Position the front end accessory drive belt aside.
3. Remove the front valance panel and air deflector.







4. Remove the components in the order indicated in the illustration and table.

1. Remove the A/C suction line clip from the radiator core support.







2. Remove the LH A/C suction line lower bracket bolt and position the bracket rearward.
3. Support the generator while removing the electrical connectors

Item 5: Generator B+ Wire Nut Removal Note
1. Position the connector boot aside.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
