STUMBLE AND/OR INDUCTIVE BACKFIRE

LINCOLN:
2003-2004 LS

ISSUE
Some 2003-2004 3.0L LS vehicles may exhibit an intermittent stumble on rapid tip-in from steady speed, generally between 20-50 MPH (32-80 Km/h). The stumble may be accompanied by an inductive backfire after the tip-in.

ACTION
Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using WDS release B36.11 and higher or B37.2 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the B37 CD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
