Normal Operation
The passive anti-theft system (PATS) uses an anti-theft indicator. This indicator proves out for 3 seconds when the ignition switch is turned to the RUN or START position under normal operation. If there is a PATS concern, this indicator either flashes rapidly or glow steadily (for more than 3 seconds) when the ignition switch is turned to the RUN or START position.
Possible Causes
- no signal from the instrument cluster
- anti-theft indicator is inoperative
- instrument cluster
- circuit 10-GL6 (GY/VT) open or short to ground
- circuit 29-GL6 (OG) open or short to ground
