Heater Hose: Service and Repair

HEATER HOSE












Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Drain the engine cooling system.
3. Remove the engine air cleaner outlet tube.
4. Remove the fresh air inlet duct.
5. Disconnect the LH heater hose at the front of the heater hose and tube assembly.
6. Disconnect the RH heater hose at the front of the heater hose and tube assembly.
7. Disconnect the heater outlet hose at the front of the heater hose and tube assembly.
8. Remove the rear heater hose and tube assembly bracket bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

9. Remove the front heater hose and tube assembly bracket bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

10. Release the 3 heater core hose clamps and disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core.
11. Release the bypass hose clamp and disconnect the bypass hose.
12. Remove heater hose and tube assembly.
13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Clean and lubricate the coolant hoses with plain water only if needed.

14. Fill the engine cooling system.
