Rear
Rear SuspensionWARNING: All vehicles are equipped with gas-pressurized shock absorbers which will extend unassisted. Do not apply heat or flame to the shock absorbers during removal or component servicing. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
CAUTION: Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they can affect the performance of vital parts and systems and their failure can result in major service expense. A new part with the same part number must be installed if installation becomes necessary. Do not use a new part of lesser quality or substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified during assembly to make sure of correct retention of these parts. Never attempt to heat, quench or straighten any rear suspension part. Install a new part.
NOTE: The rear wheel knuckle and wheel hub is serviced as an assembly. The components are not serviced individually.
Only the toe is adjustable on the rear suspension system. The rear toe is adjusted by the use of toe link assemblies connecting the knuckles to the rear subframe.
The independent rear suspension consists of the following components:
^ Rear upper suspension arm and bushing
^ Rear lower suspension arm and bushing
^ Rear shock absorber and spring assembly
^ Rear stabilizer bar
^ Rear stabilizer bar bushings
^ Rear stabilizer bar brackets
^ Rear stabilizer bar links
^ Rear wheel knuckle / wheel hub assembly
^ Rear wheel studs
^ Rear toe link
