Normal Operation
When the driver door lock cylinder is turned once to either the lock or the unlock position, the driver set/reset switch grounds either circuit 31S-AA78 (BK/BU) for the lock command or circuit 31S-AA79 (BK/WH) for the unlock command through circuit 31-AA58 (BK) to the driver door module (DDM). The DDM locks and unlocks the driver door. When a global lock/unlock command is requested through the driver door lock cylinder, the driver set/reset switch grounds either circuit 31S-AA78 (BK/BU) for the lock command or circuit 31S-AA79 (BK/WH) for the unlock command through circuit 31-AA58 (BK) to the driver door module (DDM). The DDM locks or unlocks the driver door and sends a standard corporate protocol (SCP) message to the rear electronic module (REM) to lock/unlock the passenger doors.
Possible Causes
- circuit 31-AA58 (BK) open
- circuit 31S-AA78 (BK/BU) open or short to ground
- circuit 31S-AA79 (BK/WH) open or short to ground
- driver door latch (driver set/reset switch)
- DDM
