Normal Operation
The auto-dimming mirror receives voltage from circuit 75-AD15 (YE/BU) and ground from circuit 31-AD15 (BK/OG). When the transmission is in REVERSE, the digital transmission range (TR) sensor signals the powertrain control module (PCM) the transmission range. The PCM sends a signal to the rear electronic module (REM) over the standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication link, at which time the REM sends a voltage through circuit 8-AD15 (WH/BU) to the auto-dimming interior mirror, which turns the dimming feature off. Then the auto-dimming interior mirror sends voltage through circuit 7AD-15 (YE/BU) to the LH exterior mirror, which turns the dimming feature off.
Possible Causes
- circuit 8-AD15 (WH/BU) open, short to ground or short to voltage
- circuit 9-AD15 (BN/BU) open
- circuit 31-AD15 (BK/OG) open
- circuit 75-AD15 (YE/BU) open
- auto-dimming interior mirror
- LH auto-dimming exterior mirror
- REM
