Removal and Installation
WARNING: Brake fluid contains polyglycol ethers and polyglycols. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. If brake fluid contacts eyes, flush eyes with running water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists. If taken internally, drink water and induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately. Failure to follow these instruction may result in personal injury.
CAUTION: Brake fluid is harmful to painted and plastic surfaces. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, immediately wash it with water.
1. Position the battery junction box (BJB) aside.
1 Release the clips.
2 Position the BJB aside.
2. Remove the 3 bolts and position the ABS module aside.
^ To install, tighten to 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.).
3. NOTE: The brake lines must be installed in the same location as removed.
Remove the 3 brake line nuts-to-HCU (M10) and position the brake lines aside.
^ To install, tighten to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
4. NOTE: The brake lines must be installed in the same location as removed.
Remove the 3 brake line nuts-to-HCU (M12) and position the brake lines aside.
^ To install, tighten to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
5. Remove the 3 HCU bracket-to-HCU bolts and the HCU assembly.
^ To install, tighten to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.).
6. Remove the 3 HCU bracket-to-body bolts and the HCU bracket.
^ To install, tighten to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Bleed the brake system.
