PINPOINT TEST C: INCORRECT TEMPERATURE GAUGE INDICATION

Normal Operation
The cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor monitors the coolant temperature at the cylinder head and is hardwired directly to the powertrain control module (PCM). The status of the engine coolant temperature is sent from the PCM to the instrument cluster over the communication network. The instrument cluster logs diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U1073 if the instrument cluster fails to receive the engine temperature status from the PCM.
