Normal Operation
The instrument cluster monitors the multifunction switch positions. The instrument cluster sends out a voltage reference signal to the multifunction switch through circuit 8-LE14 (WH/BU). The return signal is sent through circuit 9-LG43 (BN/WH). When the multifunction switch is in the HIGH BEAM position, the instrument cluster sends a signal to the front electronic module (FEM) to illuminate the high beams. If a problem is detected with the circuits to the multifunction switch, the instrument cluster will not send a signal to the FEM to illuminate the high beams.

Possible Causes
- Circuit 8-LE14 (WH/BU) open, short to ground or voltage
- Circuit 9-LG43 (BN/WH) open, short to ground or voltage
- Multifunction switch
- FEM
- Instrument cluster
