Front Electronic Module (FEM)

FRONT ELECTRONIC MODULE (FEM)







Removal and Installation

1. CAUTION:
- Prior to the removal of the module, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to the appropriate diagnostic equipment. This information needs to be downloaded into the new module once installed.
- Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.


Disconnect the battery.







2. Remove the LH scuff plate.







3. Remove the LH A-pillar lower trim panel.
4. Position the carpet aside.







5. Remove the 2 nuts and position the auxiliary junction box aside.
6. Disconnect the 5 FEM electrical connectors.
7. Remove the 3 FEM bolts and the FEM.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

8. NOTE: Once the FEM is installed, it is necessary to download the module configuration information from the diagnostic tool into the new module.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
