Quick Connect Coupling
QUICK CONNECT COUPLINGDisconnect - Type 1
WARNING:

CAUTION:
- If the liquid or vapor tube is damaged (torn, holes or delaminated), the affected tube assembly must be replaced with a new tube assembly. Do not use aftermarket sleeving. Do not re-adhere loose sleeving material.
- When reusing liquid or vapor tube connectors, make sure to use compressed air to remove any foreign material from the connector retaining clip area before separating from the tube. Apply clean engine oil to the end of the tube before inserting the tube into the quick connect coupling.
- Fuel injection equipment is manufactured to very precise tolerances and fine clearances. It is therefore essential that absolute cleanliness is observed when working with these components. Always install blanking plugs to any open orifices or tubes.
1. If disconnecting a liquid fuel tube quick connect coupling, release the fuel system pressure.
2. Disconnect the quick connect coupling from the tube.
- Press the quick connect coupling release button and separate the the quick connect coupling from the tube.
Connect - Type I
1. CAUTION: Make sure the tube clicks into place when installing into the quick connect coupling. To make sure the tube is fully seated, pull on the quick connect coupling.
NOTE: Apply clean engine oil to O-ring seals.
Install the quick connect coupling onto the tube.
Disconnect - Type II

1. Release the lock tab on the quick connect coupling.
2. Separate the quick connect coupling from the tube.
Connect - Type II
1. Release the lock tab and install the quick connect coupling onto the tube.
2. CAUTION: Make sure the fuel tube clicks into place when installing the quick connect coupling. To make sure the tube is fully seated, pull on the quick connect coupling.
NOTE: Apply clean engine oil to O-ring seals.
Apply lock tab into the LATCHED position.
Disconnect - Type III

1. If disconnecting a liquid fuel tube quick connect coupling, release the fuel system pressure.
2. NOTE: Carefully release the lock tab to avoid breakage.
Release the quick connect coupling primary lock tab.
3. Rotate the primary lock tab to the fully OPEN position and squeeze the secondary lock tabs to release the locking mechanism.
4. CAUTION: When reusing liquid or vapor tube connectors, make sure to use compressed air to remove any foreign material from the connector retaining clip area before separating from the tube. Apply clean engine oil to the end of the tube before inserting the tube into the quick connect coupling.
Disconnect the quick connect coupling from the tube.
- Push the locking mechanism outward and separate the quick- connect coupling from the tube.
Connect - Type III
1. CAUTION: Make sure the retainer clip clicks into place when installing.
NOTE: Apply clean engine oil to O-ring seals.
Depress the retainer clip until it is flush with the quick connect coupling housing and it is fully seated on the tube.
2. CAUTION: To make sure the tube is fully seated, pull on the quick connect coupling.
Rotate the primary locking tab to the CLOSED position.
Disconnect - Type IV

2. Squeeze the quick connect coupling retainer clip tabs to release the locking mechanism.
3. Disconnect the quick connect coupling from the tube.
- Push the locking mechanism outward to release the quick connect coupling.
- Pull on the quick connect coupling and separate it from the tube.
Connect - Type IV
1. CAUTION: Make sure the tube clicks into place when installing into the quick connect coupling. To make sure the tube is fully seated, pull on the quick connect coupling.
NOTE: Apply clean engine oil to O-ring seals.
Connect the quick connect coupling to the tube.
1 Install the quick connect coupling onto the tube until it is fully seated.
2 Depress the locking tab until it is flush with the quick connect coupling housing.
Disconnect - Type V
