GENERATOR







Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
- The generator must be supported by hand after removing the bolts and prior to disconnecting the electrical connector, or damage to the harness may result.
- Care must be taken when removing the generator to prevent damage to the air conditioning (A/C) and cooling lines.


NOTE: The A/C suction line may need to be positioned rearward to ease removal of the generator.

1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Rotate the front end accessory drive (FEAD) belt tensioner counterclockwise and position the FEAD belt aside.
3. Remove the front valance panel.
4. Remove the air deflector.







5. Remove the A/C suction line clip from the radiator core support.







6. Remove the LH A/C suction line lower bracket bolt and position the bracket rearward.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

7. Remove the generator upper bolt.
- To install, tighten to 21 Nm (15 lb-ft).

8. Remove the generator lower nut and bolt.
- To install, tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft).

9. Disconnect the generator electrical connector.
10. Position the generator B+ wire protective cover aside and remove the generator B+ wire nut and cable end.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

11. Remove the generator.
12. Remove the 4 generator bracket bolts.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

13. Remove the generator bracket.
14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
