Test A: All Power Windows Are Inoperative
PINPOINT TEST A: ALL POWER WINDOWS ARE INOPERATIVEA1:
A2-A4:
Normal Operation
The LH front smart window motor receives voltage from the battery junction box (BJB) through circuit 30-AJ80 (RD) while the RH front smart window motor receives voltage from the BJB through circuit 30-AJ71 (RD/YE). The driver door module (DDM) provides a delayed accessory voltage to both smart motors through circuit 10-AJ43 (GY/VT). This is only used by the smart motors as input logic. The LH front window control switch receives voltage from the DDM on circuit 7-AJ7 (YE/RD) and ground on circuit 31-AJ7 (BK/BU). When either of the smart motors receives an input from their respective window control switches, they operate in the commanded direction. Voltage from the BJB at all times is necessary for the global open/close feature to operate. The rear window motors are not smart motors, so they receive voltage from the rear electronic module (REM), as per the command from their respective window control switches to the REM. If the command originates from the LH front window control switch, the DDM sends a message over the SCP bus to the REM, which commands the correct window motor in the desired direction.
Possible Causes
- circuit 7-AJ7 (YE/RD) open
- circuit 31-AJ7 (BK/BU) open
- LH front window control switch
- DDM
