Normal Operation
The parking aid system is disabled if any fault is detected. Circuit 1436 (VT/OG) supplies voltage to instrument cluster message center indicating that the parking aid system is operational. If there is an active diagnostic trouble code (DTC), the parking aid module removes the voltage from circuit 1436 (VT/OG) causing the instrument cluster message center to display OFF.

The parking aid system is also disabled when the operator selects parking aid OFF through the message center. A constant voltage signal is supplied to the parking aid module by the instrument cluster message center on circuit 1435 (DG/VT). When the operator disables the parking aid system through the message center, circuit 1435 (DG/VT) is momentarily grounded, by the message center, which changes the operational state of the parking aid module to OFF.

Possible Causes
- circuit 1435 (DG/VT) short to voltage
- circuit 1436 (VT/OG) open, short to ground, or short to voltage
- parking aid system wiring harness
- instrument cluster
- parking aid module
