Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization

ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR INITIALIZATION

CAUTION: The roof opening panel motor is looking for the mechanical end-of-travel of the roof opening panel glass to determine the vent open position. Make sure there are no obstructions present in the roof opening panel when carrying out this procedure or the roof opening panel motor will not initialize to the correct position.

NOTE:
- The roof opening panel motor must be initialized after installation. The panel only moves towards the vent-open position if in the slide range until initialized.
- This procedure must be carried out when repairs are made on any part of the roof opening panel system. This includes when a new roof opening panel motor is installed, or a new roof opening panel assembly is installed.

1. Connect the roof opening panel control switch electrical connector, if necessary.
2. Place the ignition key in the RUN position.

3. NOTE: If a new roof opening panel motor was installed, go to Step 4.

Press and hold the roof opening panel switch to open the roof opening panel to the full vent-open position then release the roof opening panel control switch.
- If the roof opening panel glass appears to be in the vent-open position, press and hold the roof opening panel control switch forward until the roof opening panel moves towards the vent-open position direction, stops, then closes a slight amount. There should be a 1 to 2 second pause before the roof opening panel glass motion begins. Continue to hold the roof opening panel control switch for 5 seconds after the roof opening panel motor stops to confirm this position to the roof opening panel motor.
- If the roof opening panel glass stops short of the vent-open position or is still in the slide region, press and hold the roof opening panel control switch forward until the roof opening panel glass moves towards the vent-open position direction and stops. There should be a 1 to 2 second pause before the roof opening panel glass motion begins. The roof opening panel glass only travels a short distance until the mechanical end-of-travel is expected. After the roof opening panel glass stops, the roof opening panel motor must be initialized.

4. Press and hold the roof opening panel control switch forward while the roof opening panel moves toward the vent-open position.
- The roof opening panel motor should run until the mechanical end-of-travel is reached and then stop. The roof opening panel glass should then close slightly to the vent-open position.

5. NOTE:
- This step must be completed for 5 complete cycles to properly initialize the roof opening panel motor.
- If an automatic reversal of the roof opening panel glass occurs, the cycle must be repeated. If an automatic reversal of the roof opening panel glass occurs repeatedly, the cycles should be performed with the roof opening panel control switch held in position during the roof opening panel glass closing motions.

Release the roof opening panel control switch and test the system for normal operation by checking the one-touch slide open, one-touch slide close, one-touch vent-open, and vent-close operations.
