Rear Disc Brake

The rear disc brake system consists of these components:
^ Brake caliper
^ Brake pads
^ Vented brake disc (drum-in-hat style)

When mechanical force is applied to the brake pedal, it is converted into hydraulic pressure by the master cylinder. The hydraulic force is directed to the brake calipers and transferred to the brake pads through the caliper pistons. This force to the brake pads presses them against the brake disc friction surfaces. The friction of the brake pads against the brake discs causes the slowing of the rear wheel rotation and stops the vehicle.
