Test A: No Communication With The Instrument Cluster

PINPOINT TEST A: NO COMMUNICATION WITH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

A1-A2:

Normal Operation
The instrument cluster communicates interactively with the diagnostic tool and other electronic modules using both the standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication network and the controller area network (CAN). With the ignition switch in the RUN position, the instrument cluster receives voltage from the central junction box (CJB) through circuit 1003 (GY/YE). With the ignition switch in the START or RUN position, the instrument cluster receives voltage from the CJB through circuit 640 (RD/YE). With the ignition switch in the OFF position, the instrument cluster receives its keep-alive battery voltage from the CJB through circuit 1523 (DG). The instrument cluster grounding is through circuits 57 (BK) and 676 (PK/OG).

Possible Causes
- fuse(s)
- circuit 57 (BK) open
- circuit 640 (RD/YE) open
- circuit 676 (PK/OG) open
- circuit 1003 (GY/YE) open
- circuit 1523 (DG) open
- instrument cluster
