WARNING:
- Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited, resulting in possible personal injury.
- Do not carry personal electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers or audio equipment of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.
- Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running. Before servicing or disconnecting any of the fuel system components, the fuel system pressure must be relieved to prevent accidental spraying of fuel, causing personal injury or a fire hazard.
- The electrical power to the air suspension system must be shut off prior to hoisting, jacking or towing an air suspension vehicle. This can be accomplished by turning the air suspension switch located in the luggage compartment on the LH side to the OFF position. Failure to do so may result in unexpected inflation or deflation of the air springs, which may result in shifting of the vehicle during these operations.
1. With vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Release the fuel system pressure.
3. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
4. Disconnect the fuel supply tube quick connect coupling from the inlet of the fuel filter.
5. Disconnect the fuel supply tube spring lock coupling from the outlet of the fuel filter.
6. CAUTION: Some residual fuel will remain in the fuel filter after disconnecting the fuel tubes. Carefully drain the remaining fuel into a suitable container.
Remove the fuel filter.
- Release the fuel filter bracket clamp and remove the fuel filter.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- If broken or missing, install a new redundant clip
