Individual lock cylinders are repaired by discarding the inoperative lock cylinder and building a new lock cylinder using the appropriate lock repair package. The lock repair package includes a detailed instruction sheet to build the new lock cylinder to the current key code of the vehicle.

The remote keyless entry (RKE) system uses an integrated key. The integrated key incorporates both the passive anti-theft system (PATS) functions and the RKE transmitter functions in a single device.

The RKE transmitter initiates the following electronic system functions:
- unlock the driver door
- unlock all doors
- lock all doors
- release the luggage compartment lid latch
- arm/disarm the perimeter alarm (if equipped)
- activate/deactivate the panic alarm

The RKE transmitter has a minimum acceptable operating range of 10 m (33 ft).

The RKE transmitter can be programmed using a diagnostic tool or by using PATS key programming using 2 programmed keys.

The RKE keypad remote entry feature allows the following functions to be carried out:
- unlock all the doors
- lock all doors
- arm/disarm the perimeter alarm (if equipped)
- recall the memory seat position associated with a particular remote entry device (when enabled)
- release the luggage compartment lid latch

It also illuminates the RKE keypad lamp and issues illuminated entry on/off requests to the SJB, when locking and unlocking. The keyless entry keypad is wired to the SJB which controls the output functions of the passenger door locks and the luggage compartment lid. In some vehicles, the SJB then communicates with the DDM which controls the output functions of the driver door lock. In vehicles not equipped with a DDM, the SJB controls the driver door lock directly.
