Test H: Poor Quality/Distorted/No Sound From All Speakers - Navigation
PINPOINT TEST H: POOR QUALITY/DISTORTED/NO SOUND FROM ALL SPEAKERS - NAVIGATIONH1-H2:
H3-H5:
Normal Operation
The audio amplifier receives voltage through circuit 720 (RD/YE) and ground through circuit 694 (BK/LG). The audio mute circuit 1000 (RD/BK) is hot with the key in START. When the audio unit receives the mute signal, it mutes the speakers. This prevents a voltage surge in the speaker circuits, which could result in a popping noise.
DTC B2913 - sets when no return signal is sent from the subwoofer amplifier through circuit 174 (GY/BK). If all speakers have poor quality/distorted/no sound and DTC B2913 is present, the audio unit can be ruled-out as the source of the concern.
Possible Causes
- Fuse
- Circuit 173 (DG/VT) open
- Circuit 694 (BK/LG) open
- Circuit 720 (RD/YE) open
- Circuit 1000 (RD/BK) short to voltage
- Audio amplifier
- Audio unit
