Inspection and Verification

INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the daytime running lamps (DRL) following these steps:
1 Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
2 Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
3 Apply and hold the brake pedal.
4 Place the transmission in any gear other than PARK (P).
5 If the DRL does not operate, make sure the lighting control module (LCM) is configured for DRL before proceeding to the next step.

2. Carry out the continuous and on-demand self tests for the LCM.
- If any DTCs are retrieved related to concern, refer to Body Control Systems (Multifunction Electronic Control Module) to continue diagnosis of the LCM DTC.
- If no DTCs are retrieved, go to Step 3.

3. Verify the high beam operation.
- Place the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMPS ON position.
- Place the multifunction switch in the HIGH BEAM position.
- If the high beams do not operate correctly, refer to Lighting and Horns to continue diagnosis of the high beam headlamps.
- If the high beams operate correctly and the DRL operation is incorrect, install a new LCM. Test the system for normal operation.
