DRIVERS POWER SEAT - INOPERATIVE
LINCOLN:
2009 MKS
ISSUE
Some 2009 MKS vehicles may exhibit inoperative power seat function. When this occurs, the memory features and the seat switch features will be inoperative. The power seats may function normally after running the diagnostic self test. This may be due to the software in the DSM (Drivers Seat Module).
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Reprogram the DSM to the latest calibration using IDS release 57.9 and higher with patch 12 or 58.1 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2008.9 DVD. Calibration and IDS patch files may also be obtained at the website.
2. Connect the scan tool and run the network test as described in Workshop Manual, Section 501-10. If any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present, disregard this procedure and follow normal Workshop Manual diagnostic procedures for the codes.
3. If there are no DTCs present and the power seat features are now functional following completion of the self-test, reprogram the DSM to the latest calibration using the scan tool:
^ Select Toolbox.
^ Select Module Programming.
^ Select Module Reprogramming.
^ Select DSM.
^ When the prompt "Do you want to upgrade?" is displayed, select Yes.
