Pinpoint Test K: DTC C1A67:54
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 31, Speed Control for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number
NOTE: The speed control sensor is also known as the forward looking sensor.
Normal Operation
The adaptive cruise control system is enabled when the vehicle speed is set and the speed control sensor, which is a radar unit, determines the distance and relative speed of the vehicle that is in the path of travel. The speed control sensor can be aligned both vertically and horizontally. The vertical alignment is a manual procedure carried out by adjusting the speed control sensor adjustment screw. The horizontal alignment is a software procedure that is carried out internal to the speed control sensor and the C-CM. The Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) receives the speed control sensor input over a dedicated Controller Area Network (CAN). The inputs are sent through circuits VMF04 (BN/BU) and VMF05 (GY/BU) from the speed control sensor to the C-CM. Voltage is supplied to the speed control sensor from the C-CM on circuit CMF10 (GN). Ground is provided by circuit GD123 (BK).
- DTC C1A67:54 (Forward Looking Sensor: Missing Calibration) - set by the C-CM as a continuous memory and on-demand DTC if the C-CM detects a misalignment of the speed control sensor due to the alignment angle being out of range.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Speed control sensor
- Speed control sensor out of alignment
PINPOINT TEST K: DTC C1A67:54
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
-------------------------------------------------
K1 INSPECT THE SPEED CONTROL SENSOR BRACKET AND FRONT BUMPER BEAM
- Inspect for damage to the sensor bracket and front bumper beam.
- Is the speed control sensor bracket or front bumper beam damaged?
Yes
REPAIR or REPLACE the sensor bracket or the front bumper beam as necessary. For the speed control sensor bracket, REFER to Speed Control Sensor Service and Repair. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
GO to K2.
-------------------------------------------------
K2 CARRY OUT THE VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT
- Carry out the alignment procedures for the speed control sensor. Refer to Speed Control Sensor Adjustment Adjustments.
- Does the speed control sensor align correctly?
Yes
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern was caused by a misaligned sensor.
No
INSTALL a new speed control sensor. REFER to Speed Control Sensor Service and Repair. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
