Exterior Mirror Glass

Removal and Installation

All mirrors

1. Move the exterior mirror glass to the full upper inboard position.





Auto-dimming mirror

WARNING: Place a shop towel between the hands and the exterior mirror glass for protection in case of glass breakage during mirror service. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

2. Grasp the outboard edge of the exterior mirror glass and pull outward.





All mirrors except auto-dimming

WARNING: Place a shop towel between the hands and the exterior mirror glass for protection in case of glass breakage during mirror service. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

3. Grasp the exterior mirror glass at the outer edge and pull outward and away from the mirror at the same time.

4. Remove the exterior mirror glass.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.

5. NOTE: If equipped with auto-dimming, make sure the exterior mirror glass snaps into the exterior mirror motor.

NOTE: When installing the exterior mirror glass on vehicles not equipped with auto-dimming, align the exterior mirror glass inboard edge first, then rock the backing plate over the adapter plate (outboard edge).

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- When installing, the exterior mirror damper springs should be in the exterior mirror damper spring channels and the electrical wiring should be routed behind the exterior mirror damper spring channel. After installation, test the glass by manually moving the exterior mirror glass in all directions.
