Catalytic Converter - RH




Catalytic Converter - RH, 3.7L

1. NOTE: Always install new fasteners and gaskets. Clean flange faces prior to new gasket installation to make sure of correct sealing.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting. Vehicle Lifting

2. Remove the exhaust Y-pipe. For additional information, refer to Exhaust Y-Pipe Exhaust Y-Pipe.

3. Remove the RH Catalyst Monitor Sensor (CMS). For additional information, refer to Computers and Control Systems.

4. Remove the 2 bracket-to-RH catalytic converter bolts.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).

5. Remove the 4 nuts and the RH catalytic converter.
- Discard the nuts and gasket.

- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

6. Inspect the exhaust manifold studs for damage.
- If damaged, replace the stud, or if stud comes out when removing the nut, replace the stud.

- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

7. NOTICE: Prior to Installation, Inspect the CMS wiring harness for damage.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install a new gasket and nuts.
