Pinpoint Test H: B11C7:97

Normal Operation - B11C7:97 (High Beam Sensor: Component or System Operation Obstructed or Blocked) - sets when the Headlamp Control Module 2 (HCM-2) determines the automatic high beam camera view is obstructed based on the results of a series of self-tests.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Debris
- Windshield
- HCM-2



PINPOINT TEST H: B11C7:97

NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

NOTE: It is recommended that an active light source (such as a shop light) facing the windshield is available during the HCM-2 self-test to avoid falsely setting DTC B11C7:97.

H1 CHECK FOR OUTER OBSTRUCTIONS


- Inspect the outside of the windshield for obstructions (mud, dirt, debris, applique) in front of the HCM-2.
- Is any obstruction present in the area around the HCM-2?

Yes
REMOVE the obstruction and CLEAN the windshield. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

No
GO to H2.

H2 CHECK THE WINDSHIELD FOR DAMAGE


- Inspect the outside of the windshield for damage.
- Is any damage present in the area around the HCM-2?

Yes
INSTALL a new windshield. REFER to Windows and Glass. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

No
GO to H3.

H3 CHECK THE HCM-2 FOR AN OBSTRUCTION


- Remove the HCM-2. Refer to Headlamp Control Module 2 (HCM-2) Headlamp Control Module 2 (HCM-2).
- Inspect the HCM-2 and the windshield mounting area for obstructions.
- Is any obstruction present?

Yes
REMOVE the obstruction. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

No
INSTALL a new HCM-2. REFER to Headlamp Control Module 2 (HCM-2) Headlamp Control Module 2 (HCM-2). CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
