Principles of Operation

NOTE: The reversing lamps are not powered by the Lighting Control Module (LCM).

When the ignition switch is in the RUN position and the transmission is in REVERSE (R), the digital Transmission Range (TR) sensor contacts close and voltage is routed to the reversing lamps.
