Climate Control System

Pinpoint Test J: DTC B113F

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 55, Automatic Climate Control System for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

Under normal operation, ground is provided to the rear climate control switch. When the switch is pressed, ground through an internal resistor is sent to the Rear Audio and Temperature Control (RATC) module.

- DTC B113F (Rear Climate Control Switch Circuit Short To Battery) - The module senses no voltage drop on the switch output circuit, indicating an open circuit.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Rear climate control switch

PINPOINT TEST J: DTC B113F

-------------------------------------------------
J1 CHECK CIRCUIT 1349 (PK/LG) FOR AN OPEN

- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: RATC Module C3160a.
- Disconnect: Rear Climate Control Switch C3161.
- Measure the resistance between RATC module C3160a-4 pin 4, circuit 1349 (PK/LG), harness side and the rear climate control switch C3161-2, circuit 1349 (PK/LG), harness side.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
GO to J2.

No
REPAIR circuit 1349 (PK/LG) for an open. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.

-------------------------------------------------
J2 CHECK CIRCUIT 1349 (PK/LG) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

- Measure the voltage between rear climate control switch C3161-2, circuit 1349 (PK/LG), harness side and ground.

- Is any voltage present?

Yes
REPAIR circuit 1349 (PK/LG) for a short to voltage. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
GO to J3.

-------------------------------------------------
J3 CHECK CIRCUIT 676 (PK/OG) FOR GROUND

- Measure the resistance between rear climate control switch C3161-3, circuit 676 (PK/OG), harness side and ground.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
INSTALL a new rear climate control switch. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REPAIR circuit 676 (PK/OG) for an open. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.
