Active Park Assist

Pinpoint Test H: DTC U0100:00

Normal Operation

- DTC U0100:00 (Lost Communication With PCM: No Sub-Type Information)- sets in the Parking Aid Module (PAM) if data messages received from the PCM over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) are missing after the active park assist system is activated. For a complete list of all network messages, refer to Information Bus.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- PAM (Parking Aid Module)

- PCM

PINPOINT TEST H : DTC U0100:00

H1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN

- Ignition ON.

- Verify that there is an observable symptom present.

Is an observable symptom present?

Yes
GO to H2.

No
The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.

H2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

- Ignition ON.

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Network Test.

- Carry out the network test.

Does the PCM pass the network test?

Yes
GO to H3.

No
REFER to Information Bus.

H3 RECHECK THE PAM (Parking Aid Module) DTCs

- Clear the DTCs.

- Operate the system and test the system for normal operation.

- Repeat the PAM (Parking Aid Module) self-test.

Is DTC U0100:00 still present?

Yes
GO to H4.

No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.

H4 CHECK FOR DTC U0100 OR DTC U0100:00 IN OTHER MODULES

- Clear all DTCs.

- Ignition OFF.

- Wait 10 seconds.

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self-Test.

- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.

Is DTC U0100 or DTC U0100:00 set in any module?

Yes
INSTALL a new PCM. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
GO to H5.

H5 CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM (Parking Aid Module) OPERATION

- Disconnect the PAM (Parking Aid Module) connector.

- Check for:
- corrosion

- damaged pins

- pushed-out pins


- Connect the PAM (Parking Aid Module) connector and make sure it seats correctly.

- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?

Yes
INSTALL a new PAM (Parking Aid Module). TEST the system for normal operation.

No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
