Pinpoint Test O: DTC U3000:63
Cruise Control
Pinpoint Test O: DTC U3000:63
Normal Operation
The adaptive cruise control system is enabled when the vehicle speed is set and the Cruise-Control Module (C-CM), which is a radar sensor unit, determines the distance and relative speed of the vehicle that is in the path of travel. The C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) commands the ABS module over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN), which controls the brakes, to automatically apply the brakes to slow the vehicle to maintain a safe distance to the vehicle in front. This is known as collision mitigation by braking. The brake lamp control circuit is pulled low by the ABS module which controls the brake lamp relay. This activates the brake lamps when the brakes are applied for the adaptive cruise control system.
- DTC U3000:63 (Control Module: Circuit/Component Protection Time-Out)- set by the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) as a continuous memory and on-demand DTC if the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) detects too many collision mitigation by braking activation requests.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- C-CM (Cruise-Control Module)
PINPOINT TEST O : DTC U3000:63
O1 INSPECT THE C-CM (Cruise-Control Module), BRACKET AND FRONT BUMPER COVER
- Inspect for damage to the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module), bracket and front bumper cover.
Is the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module), bracket or front bumper cover damaged?
Yes
REPAIR or REPLACE the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module), bracket or front bumper cover as necessary. For the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) or bracket, REFER to Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) . CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
The C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) needs to be updated with the latest software. CARRY OUT the module programming. REFER to Information Bus.
