Pinpoint Test Y: DTC P0B1B:00

Normal Operation

The Battery Pack Sensor Module (BPSM) monitors battery pack voltage by measuring voltage within the High Voltage Traction Battery (HVTB). The BPSM (Battery Pack Sensor Module) then broadcasts the voltage value via the dedicated Controller Area Network (CAN) to the BECM (Battery Energy Control Module). Normal pack voltage should be between 179-343 volts.

- P0B1B:00 (Hybrid Battery Pack Voltage Sense C Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information)- Fault is set when BPSM (Battery Pack Sensor Module) senses low voltage.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- HVTB (High Voltage Traction Battery)

- BPSM (Battery Pack Sensor Module)

PINPOINT TEST Y : DTC P0B1B:00

Y1 RETRIEVE THE BECM (Battery Energy Control Module) DTCs

- Connect the scan tool.

- Ignition ON.

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Clear DTCs- BECM (Battery Energy Control Module).

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test- BECM (Battery Energy Control Module).

Are any DTCs other than P0B1B:00 retrieved?

Yes
REFER to the Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) DTC Chart and diagnose all other DTCs first. Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) DTC Chart

No
GO to Y2.

Y2 INSTALL A NEW BPSM (Battery Pack Sensor Module)

- Ignition OFF.

- Install a new BPSM (Battery Pack Sensor Module). Refer to Battery Pack Sensor Module (BPSM) .

- Ignition ON.

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Clear DTCs- BECM (Battery Energy Control Module).

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test- BECM (Battery Energy Control Module).

Is DTC P0B1B:00 retrieved?

Yes
GO to Y3.

No
REPAIR is complete. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.

Y3 INSTALL A NEW BECM (Battery Energy Control Module)

- Ignition OFF.

- Install a new BECM (Battery Energy Control Module). Refer to Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) .

- Ignition ON.

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Clear DTCs- BECM (Battery Energy Control Module).

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test- BECM (Battery Energy Control Module).

Is DTC P0B1B:00 retrieved?

Yes
INSTALL a new HVTB (High Voltage Traction Battery) (includes HVTB (High Voltage Traction Battery) system wire harness). REFER to High-Voltage Traction Battery . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REPAIR is complete. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.
