DESCRIPTION
A "buzz" or rattling noise may be heard from the exhaust system during normal driving or at idle. The noise may be caused by a loose heat shield attached to the muffler or catalyst. To correct this problem, worm clamps should be installed to secure the heat shield to the muffler or catalyst. Refer to the instructions below for installation details.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Install two (2) worm clamps to the catalyst or muffler as shown.
2. Align clamps to secure heat shield to muffler or catalyst and tighten no more than 6 - 8 Nm (53 - 70 in.lbs.)
3. Remove excess strap from clamp after tightening.
