LOOSE WINDSHIELD MOLDING
DESCRIPTION
The windshield molding may become partially dislodged from the glass. This condition occurs primarily along the top of the windshield and is caused by inadequate retention of the molding.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
All applicable models.
INSPECTION & REPAIR PROCEDURE
To secure the windshield molding assembly to the glass, use the following procedure.
1. Press the windshield molding assembly back onto the glass.
2. Lift the molding where shown in Figure 1.
NOTE:
Lifting the molding too much will cause molding to buckle.
3. Fill the area beneath the molding with a small bead of clear RTV silicone scaler (1/8 inch bead). Figure 1.
NOTE:
Apply sealer all the way around the windshield except across the bottom.
4. Press the molding back into place.
5. Clean off any excess RTV silicone sealer.
