DESCRIPTION

Certain driveability concerns that occur when the engine is cold (i.e. long crank times, rough idle, hesitation on acceleration) may be traced to the formation of deposits on the intake valves. The deposits contribute to a lean air/fuel condition which occurs typically in ambient temperatures of 40-70~F.

NOTE:

Mazda recommends the use of gasoline containing "Intake system deposit control" detergents that help keep both intake valves and fuel injectors clean.

The gasolines listed contain "intake system deposit control" detergents. The list is based on the latest information provided by gasoline marketers. This list in not all inclusive. There may be other gasolines that provide adequate protection.

The list of gasolines is provided only to authorized Mazda dealers for the purpose of helping customers avoid experiencing the driveability concerns described above. Each customer should ask their local gasoline marketer whether the gasoline they are buying will provide adequate protection from creating intake valve deposits; or, they should look for point of sale information to this effect.
