DESCRIPTION
The pamphlet contains oil leak sealing techniques, associated parts numbers and proper warranty claim information for the following areas:
^ Rocker Arm Covers
^ Intake Manifold
^ Oil Pan
^ Rear Main Seal
Oil leaks in these areas have led to misdiagnosis, improper repair and customer dissatisfaction.
To decrease oil leaks around the oil pan, the configuration of the oil pan sealing surface and the oil pan gasket have changed. * Due to this change, the old and new style parts are not interchangeable. *

Please place a copy of the pamphlet into the applicable workshop manual You will receive 2 pamphlets with the delivery of this bulletin. Make an in-house copy if additional pamphlets are needed.
PARTS INFORMATION
NOTE:
1. To decrease oil leaks around the oil pan, the configuration of the oil pan sealing surface and the oil pan gasket have changed. It is important to note that the new style pan and gasket are not interchangeable with the old parts.
2. The part numbers listed are current at the time of printing. Check your parts microfiche or EPC for updated information
3. The vehicle you are servicing may not require all of the above parts. Confirm the appropriate repair PRIOR to placing a stock order.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
Refer to the Parts Section of these procedures to see how a visual inspection for oil leaks should be performed. After determining the location, perform procedure A, B, C or D.
NOTE:
These procedures do not include the air test procedure outlined in this bulletin. This procedure should only be used if the leak location can not be positively identified.
After locating the leak area, refer to the index to determine which page contains the appropriate repair.
