FRONT RADIUS ARM INSULATOR NOISE
DESCRIPTION
A rattle may be heard on the passenger side while the vehicle is in motion over bumps or a rough road. It may be caused by deterioration of the radius arm inner insulator. This concern is most evident on vehicles generating high exhaust/underbody temperatures that occur during high idle and trailer towing.
To correct this problem, replace the inner insulator using the repair procedures in this bulletin and the Workshop Manual section R-01.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove the following parts from the right rear sided of the radius arm bracket:
^ Nut
^ Rear Washer
^ Heat Shield
^ Outer Insulator
2. Inspect the inner insulator (ZZL0 34 225) for heat deterioration. If necessary, replace with a new modified insulator (ZZL0 34 225A).
