Dear Mazda Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Act of 1966. Mazda Motor of America, Inc. has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1991 Navajo vehicles.
The Fuel Tank Heat Shield Extension may be in contact with the fuel tank and could result in damage to the fuel tank.
The Rear Bumper when used for towing could develop a crack and under repeated use could become separated from the vehicle. Your vehicle's rear bumper should not be utilized for towing until this recall campaign is performed on your vehicle.
We have made arrangements for you to have these recalls performed free of charge at any authorized Mazda dealer.
To minimize your inconvenience, we recommend that you make an appointment with your dealer on or after April 1, 1991, in order to complete these recalls.
We estimate that it will take approximately 2 hours to complete the needed work. However, due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need your vehicle for one full working day.
If you no longer own your 1991 Navajo please complete and mail the enclosed "Change of Ownership" pre-paid postcard as soon as possible.
