Subject
FUEL STABILIZER
DESCRIPTION
When the vehicle is stored for a long period of time (60 days or more), the gasoline may deteriorate due to oxidation. This can damage rubber parts in the fuel system, and may also clog small orifices.
STORAGE PROCEDURE
A commercially available fuel stabilizer ("STA-BIL" or equivalent) should be added to the fuel of vehicles that are going to be stored for 60 days or more. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the product package. After the stabilizer has been added, the vehicle should be operated at idle to circulate the stabilizer throughout the fuel system.
