Flow Chart No. 2: All Door Locks Inoperative
Flow Chart No. 2 - Symptom - All door locks inoperative.Step 1
Check 20 A fuse in power distribution box.
1. Is 20 A fuse blown?
Step 2
Check supply to all lock relay and all unlock relay.
1. Gain access to relay module No. 1; remove all lock relay and all unlock relay located in relay module No. 1.
2. Connect voltmeter negative lead to known good ground, then test four BAW wires, pins 25 (B/W), 26 (B/W), 31 (B/W) and 34 (B/W) individually with positive lead of voltmeter as shown in the figure.
3. Measure voltage on each pin.
4. Is battery voltage present on each pin?
Step 3
Check ground circuit for all lock and all unlock relays.
CAUTION
^ Do not connect ohmmeter to improper pin. Ohmmeter may be broken it connected to improper pin.
1. Connect ohmmeter test lead to a known good ground, then with other test lead, test two B wire pins.
2. Measure resistance of each pin.
3. Is resistance 5 ohms or less on each pin?
Step 4
Check B/W circuit for open.
CAUTION
^ Disconnect the battery negative cable before performing the following test.
1. Remove Fuse 5. Connect ohmmeter between 20 A fuse, B/W circuit, of power distribution box and instrument panel relay module No. 1, four B/W circuits, pins 25, 26, 31 and 34. Test each individually.
2. Measure resistance of each pin.
3. Is resistance 5 ohms or less on each pin?
Step 5
Check B/W circuit for short.
1. Connect ohmmeter between known good ground and relay module No. 1 B/W pins.
2. Measure resistance.
3. Is resistance 5 ohms or less?
Step 6
Check lock signal to all lock relay for open.
1. Connect ohmmeter between Ply circuit of relay module No. 1 and known good ground as shown.
2. Actuate any door lock switch to lock position. Measure resistance.
3. Is resistance 5 ohms or less?
Step 7
Check P/Y circuit for open.
1. Remove door lock switch, then connect ohmmeter between P/Y circuit of relay module No. 1 and P/Y circuit of switch connector.
2. Measure resistance.
3. Is resistance 5 ohms or less?
Step 8
Check switch ground circuit (B) for open.
1. With switch removed, connect ohmmeter between B circuit on switch connector and known good ground.
2. Measure resistance.
3. Is resistance 5 ohms or less?
